Mr. David Miscavige Chairman of the Board, Religious Technology Center Opening Address In honor of L. Ron Hubbard's Birthday 1997

     Announced at the 1996 L. Ron Hubbard Birthday Celebration was the formation of a new club dedicated to helping achieve the goals L. Ron Hubbard laid out for society: “A civilization without insanity, without criminals and without war, where the able can prosper and honest beings can have rights, and where man is free to rise to greater heights.”
     There are no conditions of membership except one’s statement, “I am a friend of Ron.” Anyone can join.
     Soon after announcement of this club’s formation, the international membership office was inundated with new members and the number continues to grow daily.
     In addition to Los Angeles Friends of Ron, who aligned forces with city officials and members of the community to help build L. Ron Hubbard Way, Friends of Ron from all walks of life—different professions, nationalities, races, colors and creeds—are active in many countries. Each is engaged in activities as diverse as Mr. Hubbard’s interests themselves.
